My wife and I have two rabbits. They are prey animals. I honestly can’t name many animals lower on the food chain than a rabbit. Prey animals can be great pets! But they are not like cats or dogs. They normally just want you to feed them and keep your distance.

Today has been the hard day that punctuated a hard week. As I was feeling sorry for myself one of the rabbits jumped up onto me. It was as if the rabbit knew I was going though something hard and wanted to make sure I was okay. I have had this experience before with animals and it is always surprising and comforting. I am grateful that in a moment of need I was reminded that I am not alone.
