We had a friend over for backgammon. Yes, we are the kind of people that have friends over for backgammon. This friend is much better than us. He had Abby on the ropes, he was building a large blockade and had one of her checkers on the bar. If you don’t know what any of that means it’s okay, all you need to know is in this moment he let his guard down. Right there, just on the other side of his blockade he left a checker unprotected. He felt safe. For a moment he might have thought he gotten away with it. Well, it was only a moment before Abby rolled and all of his intentions of winning the match disappeared. That poor unprotected checker would sit on the bar with no way to get back on the board until Abby was firmly in the lead. It was a move that will be written down in history books with other great and unexpected comebacks. “Abby vs Birk, 2023”

I love games, I love old games and new games. And most importantly I love that Abby and I can usually stop what we are doing to spend time playing.
