When we were dating I thought it would be clever to buy Abigail a different flower for every date I took her on until I found out which flowers were her favorites…. Well her favorites are red roses, we found out on the second date. When I gift Abby flowers she always holds them close and then smells them one at a time. She needs a moment with “her girls.” A little later star lillys where added to the roses. I love making her happy, and sometimes all it takes is flowers.
.
A few notes about flowers. First, its not enough to just buy flowers (unless you don’t buy flowers on a regular basis, then yes it is enough to buy flowers, what are you waiting for? Don’t finish reading this, go buy flowers!) Otherwise I would suggest that you find a new way to give the flowers. For instance, I felt inspired to steal a spare key to her car while we where dating to sneak the flowers into the drivers seat so she would find them when she finished doing what ever she was doing. How you gift the flowers is just as important as the flowers. A second thought: It’s always good to have your plain old traditional flower giving scheduled for certain times of the year (anniversary’s are a common one). When you gift on a regular basis find a way to make it special every year. My father gifts my mother one yellow rose (her wedding flowers were yellow roses) for every year they have been married. This means that at this point the roses take two whole vases to hold them all every anniversary. My mom loves them.

Know her favorite flowers. Buy flowers often.
